Foliage: Glossy green, reddish-purple when emerging
Size: H 20-40' S 15-30'
Fall Color: Yellow, gold, orange, and crimson
Soil: Well drained, not drought tolerant
Shape: Broad, low branching
Growth Rate: Slow
Flower: Maroon in March-April, non showy
Fruit: 1/2" light brown
Exposure: Full sun to part shade
Additional Notes: Closely related to witch hazels, this tree offers year round interest. The foliage offers a long color display in the fall. During the winter months the older branches have gray, pink and sometimes green exfoliating bark.
